What can I expect?

When you pull into the parking lot on Saturday evening or Sunday morning, you will be joining several hundred others who are making their way to the auditorium. You’ll notice the dress is casual and as you enter the lobby, greeters will be there to direct you to the Welcome Center where you can get answers to any questions you might have. On Sunday's (our Saturday service is age-inclusive), you’ll see lots of kids and a Children's Check-in desk where you can register your children into a Sunday school class… (we have awesome kids' programs!).  As you enter the auditorium you’ll notice a live band on the stage playing  upbeat and contemporary- sounding music. The words to the songs are projected on screens for people in the congregation to sing along with the band in expressing their hearts to God.After about 20 minutes of singing we speak to the congregation about special upcoming events. Sometimes there is a drama, a song from the band, or a video clip and then the message time begins. The pastor will teach from the Bible on the day’s topic. When it's all done you pick up your kids, stop for refreshments at the cafe if you'd like before heading home or stay for lunch at a nearby restaurant. With all the people around it is easy to check things out and stay as anonymous as you would like.

Will I be singled out in any way as a visitor?

At Damascus Road, you'll never be put on the spot, never feel forced to give money and never embarrassed. Participating in the offering is your option, not our expectation for visitors. You don't have to sign anything or register your attendance in any way (unless you place your child in our children's ministry - and then only for your child's security). Let the service be a gift to you.

What about special needs individuals?

We have an active, engaging, and unique special needs/disability ministry called "Haven" that welcomes families and friends of all ages.   Haven families worship along with the congregation during the music service and then move to their classroom for their own worship service and teaching at the Sunday 9 am service.

Where do my kids go during the services?

On Sunday's, our children's ministry provides an exciting experience for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and grade schoolers through sixth grade. This allows you to get the most from your experience at Damascus Road while your child has a great time in a safe, friendly, kid-centered environment!

If you have a teenager, they are invited to attend the service with you. In addition, there are student ministries specifically for them. NxtGen Youth Church for High Schoolers & Middle Schoolers meets every Sunday evening from 5-7:30 pm.  During the school year, small groups meet on Wednesdays from 7 - 8:30pm, check the church calendar for locations.
