Who are we?
We are Damascus Road Community Church's Youth Group (NxTGeN Youth Ministries) grades 6 – 12. We come from different high schools across Frederick, Montgomery, Howard & Carroll counties.
- We believe you should be loved no matter what you’ve been through or what you’ve done in your life.
- We want to experience the consuming love that Jesus Christ offers
- We want to always be connected to God.
- We want to go vertical in our praises, our conversations, our lives.
What is this Vertical Love thing?
Vertical love is reaching up to our God because Jesus Christ filled the gap that existed between us and Him and He always reaches down to be close to us. So in our attitude - in our hearts - we are driven by Vertical Love. That Vertical Love spills over to the love we share to others - aka Horizontal Love. Luke 10:27 says. “'Love the Lord your God with all your heart , with all your soul , with all your strength and with all your mind;' and, 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'” We believe our love with God changes - makes better - our love for everyone else.
Our mission: LOVE
Through His love we develop fully devoted
followers of Christ and build loving Christian relationships
Ways to get involved:
Youth Church:
Youth church for students grade 6—12 meets weekly every Sunday night from 5:00 - 7:00 pm.
Teenagers are involved in every element of the service from the live praise band, to promoting upcoming events, to special prayer experiences, to testimonies, to running the technical teams, to greeting in the lobby.
An age-appropriate Biblical teaching is presented each week by our youth pastor or by another member from the teaching team at Youth Church.
We meet at Monocacy Valley Church located just west of Oakdale HS on Rt 144 in Frederick.
Alien Nation: Wednesdays 7 - 8:30 PM
Alien Nation involves growing our relationship with Jesus and each other through games, music, small group sharing and Bible application. It is for students grades 6-12 and adult leaders. Alien Nation is the teen counterpart to adult Small Groups. "It's all about da relationships!”
