Continue to pray for saftey and the movement of the Holy Spirit as our missionaries serve.

The team is safe and everyone is well.

Ryan Smith presented his testimony at the jail on Sunday.

A medical team went on a trip on Monday to a village that had never seen a doctor or a nurse before. It was a two hour truck drive, followed by a two hour horseback ride. Also on Monday, three cement floors were layed in Santa Barbara. A team of college students painted the cafeteria at the orphanage. Our team has been joyful because of the amount of time they have been able to spend with the orphans.

Today they are traveling to Copan, so please continue to cover them in prayer. I will be traveling to join the team tomorrow.

There are two weddings scheduled for Saturday and six baptisms scheduled for Sunday.

Reports from the NxtGen/Las Mesas Team - June 2006

Continue to pray for saftey and the movement of the Holy Spirit as our missionaries serve.

Yesterday, our teams had a huge day with Jesus in Las Mesas sharing the Gospel to hundreds of villagers.. the medical team spent the day praying and healing in the village of Ricon Del Buy where our sister church is located. The Jesus Film was shown in the central square. Chip Gordon was able to finish electrical work on three homes in Las Mesas. Woody Pangborn and Jerry Rader took 2 teams to finish building houses in a small village close to Las Mesas where they continued to serving God. God has richly blessed our teams and they have many stories that will show the power of GOD.

Yesterday, 19 missionaries went to San Francisco... not California, but on the frontier of Guatamala where the medical team spent the day praying and healing. The Jesus Film was shown. The food team fed one of the four schools we take care of weekly. Tasha Fredericks and Chip Gordon were able to film a short Mission Honduras promo piece. After finishing up in San Francisco these same missionaries traveled to La Laguna where they continued to serving God in the same capacities. While this was going on, 13 other missionaries, under the leadership of Woody Pangborn were building houses in the Las Mesas area.

Speaking of Las Mesas, the team of 11 missionaries under the leadership of Bob Fournier and Robbie Watkins were doing house-to-house evangelism (see the message below from Sue Erichsen) and were constructing a soccer field on the local school grounds.

All the teams came back together at 7 pm to the central square of Copan to help spread the gospel by the first ever showing of The Passion.

Today saw 13 missionaries going on horseback to a village that can't be reached by vehicle to operate a medical clinic and VBS activities for children. The rest of the NxtGen missionaries were finishing up the construction of houses in the Las Mesas area. The Las Mesas team continued their on-going projects. Tonight we will host a first ever youth church bonfire in Ricon del Buey. Our teams will be ministering to and with the local sister Church in Christ to teens in the area.

Hey Roger,

This is just a quick note to tell you that there have been so many God moments in Las Mesas, I can't even count them. God is blessing above and beyond my expectations. All are well with just a few stomach issues in about half the group, but nothing serious.

Bob, Oscar, Tara and I met with a first contact family today. We spent about 30-45 minutes talking with the wife as she told us about the death of her nine year old son three months ago. She needed to grieve. I was able to share effectively because of my recent grieving over Louisa. Oscar was awesome, and Bob was also affected. God's precense was so real and dear. Bob told her we were sent all the way from USA to tell her God loved her and would comfort her.

There are many other stories to tell, many new friendships formed. They are showing The
Passion
in the square of Copan now.

In His service,
Sue Erichsen

Roger spoke to Robbie Watkins, a Las Mesas Team leader, this morning. They were building a soccer field on the school grounds that is adjacent to the Damascus Road property. Robbie reports that there is a definite move of God in their midst. They have been sharing the gospel all over the mountain and the local people seem to have a general hunger for more of this Jesus of which our team speaks. Robbie also reports that everyone is healthy aside from just a little dysentery. They solicit your prayers for God's leadership for the remainder of the trip.

Phil left a message from the NxtGen Team that the medical team is serving in La Laguna and San Francisco. They will be showing the Jesus film at both locations. The food team is distributing food at both locations. There are five houses being built and two teams are doing electrical work. The family box team will be delivering boxes and doing evangelism today.

Tonight, both teams will be reunited at the Church in Christ for a 7 pm service.

This morning the NxtGen Team began their first full day of ministries in Copan. They will be running medical clinics, delivering family boxes, building houses, praying and serving wherever the Spirit moves.

The Las Mesas Team is building a soccer field and doing door-to-door evangelism today.

This evening the Las Mesas Team will be joining the NxtGen Team and the Church in Christ at a joint church service in Ricon del buoy on the outskirts of Copan.

Hola parents and friends of our missionaries servicing the living Christ in Honduras,

The NxtGen and Las Mesas Teams are safe and sound doing God's work.

The NxtGen Team traveled safely from Santa Barbara to the Ruins of Copan. Upon arrival they went shopping in the lovely downtown central square of Copan or toured the Mayan Ruins. Then they enjoyed a roast chicken dinner dividing into three groups that went out to three different locations to partner with Church in Christ small groups. When speaking with them, Roger reported that everyone was laughing and having a wonderful time!

Tomorrow the NxtGen Team will join up with with the Las Mesas team which is safely in the mountaintop village of Las Mesas to deliver medicine and clothes and most importantly the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

There are many stories to share of what God has been doing with our teams that we will share some of when time permits, but for now, let me share this short e-mail with this quote from Kelly Gordon "I have seen the Holy Spirit move like I have never seen before. Jesus Christ is completing who I am in Him."

Enough said, this is why we go..... to see the manifestation of the Holy Spriit in us as well as the Honduran people.

In HIS service,
Roger

P.S. Keep praying for God's will.
