Mission India
December 2007 India Missions Team report
In the Fall of 2007, our church sent out a small team to India commissioning them to take the Gospel of Jesus and impact the lives of children and adults halfway around the world. The team included Paul Foss, Paul Henning, Paul Ramsey, Greg Lueck, and Rajendra Pillai.
They heard the call…
…and obeyed.
As a result:
- 76 micro-businesses were started among poor women in Calcutta
- 30 rickshaw pullers now have hope of a job through a micro-business
- 100 mostly homeless kids will be able to go to school
- 470 orphans will have a roof over their head, food to eat, and will hear about Jesus every day
- 800 square-foot new building for little orphan girls dedicated by the WaterBoyz
- A 7000 square-foot brand new “Dream Center” is being built among a wild unreached tribe
- 100 lepers despised by their community will have an acre of land created as a haven for them.
Thousands of hugs were exchanged, hearts were touched, and two cultures were brought together under the umbrella of the outrageous love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Lodha tribe Dream Center
Wild untamed elephants! Three hundred of them were spotted two weeks before we arrived on December 3rd at a remote village in India. As our team drove through the forests of Orissa, we saw the elephant tracks. In the midst of this wild land, as we drove around a bend, we saw a huge 7000 square feet Dream Center (that’s what we call our orphanages) rising out of the earth. Almost 400 kids will receive education, food, clothing, and learn about Jesus in this building.

In the end, we didn’t see any wild elephants – they had disappeared in the forests by the time we arrived, but we did see some really wild Holy-Spirit inspired work that is changing the spiritual landscape in India. And our team’s shared experience demands we ignite our spheres of influence with the same message Jesus has for every single person on planet Earth – each person matters to Jesus, and therefore they matter to us.
Lodha tribe Dream Center update
On Friday, March 28, 2008, we received a photo that was taken earlier that day of the Lodha tribe Dream Center.

Pause for a moment and imagine: Because of the faithfulness of a local church in Damascus and the God-inspired partnership of a couple in DC, Donald and Makiko Harrison, almost 400 orphans will now be joining us some day as we together stand before the Lord and praise Him! There is simply no greater thrill on planet Earth.
