Dear Family and Friends,
Jesus’ promise for us is that He came so that we might have life and have it in its fullest (John 10:10). I am so grateful to be a part of a community that lives out that promise. As we live the God-adventure this week, let’s take a moment every morning to pray a prayer of dethroning ourselves and enthroning Jesus in our daily lives.
Update on Richard
Richard had a follow-up appointment with the doctors at Johns Hopkins yesterday. Thank you so much for your prayers. The reports look good - he is healing well and is very grateful for your cards and words of encouragement. He has not been cleared to return to work, however, as he still needs to rest. We will keep you posted on his progress – please keep praying for a complete healing.
Meeting at the land tonight
Because of rain in the forecast, we will have a shortened time of gathering at the cross on the land tonight beginning at 6:45 PM. If you are unable to come, please set aside a time for prayer and supplication in your home this evening.
Ten-Year Celebrations
We are ten years old and we’re having a party. Two parties! On November 4 we will look back over our first decade as a community following Christ; and then on November 11 we will look forward and share some of where we’re clear God is leading us. On November 11 enjoy a simulated tour of our future facility and stay for lunch. Spread the word and invite your friends and neighbors. Our children and youth will be leading us during praise time on the 11th and we will also dedicate babies in that service. If you would like your baby dedicated, please contact Sallie Fredericks at sallief@damascus.com.
This Sunday
I’ll be preaching a message on the Ultimate Transformation – what happens when Jesus comes in! If you have unchurched friends and family members, invite them this Sunday. Sunday evening is our second Epicenter at Oakdale Middle School for high school students. Also this Sunday, stay after morning service in the cafeteria for a snack and hang out and fellowship with old friends and make new ones!
In Him where we can truly live life to the fullest!
