Weekly Update from Damascus Road Community Church

October 26, 2007

Dear Congregation,

Last Sunday a Congregational Q&A meeting was held after our normal services to share information about the challenges/opportunities we face as a congregation. As we pointed out there really are two challenges – 1) a $2 million dollar shortfall for our proposed building   2) the larger challenge of understanding how to more effectively share the good news of the gospel in a way that will draw hundreds of lost people into the Kingdom. You will find attached a copy of the hand out given to each person in attendance at that meeting.

One of the elders took notes of the questions congregation members asked during this meeting. Craig Mason (our development committee chairperson), Brian Deyaert (our Trustee Chair), and Paul Foss (our Head Elder) have written out the answers to those questions which are included below.

We have received two emails so far with congregational input both telling us they were impressed we needed to build something now, even if it wasn’t exactly what we wanted. We encourage your feedback and promise that the Elders will prayerfully consider every email and perspective.

In HIM

Paul
Head Elder
