Dear Family and Friends,
I am still celebrating our Lord’s faithfulness these last ten years. Thank you for the way you have stepped up as we look forward in seeking God’s Heart for our future. I am so excited about the upcoming weeks. I wanted to make sure you made a note of these dates!
Missions Sundays (November 18 and 25)
This Sunday we have a guest speaker – Dr. Faiz Rahman. Dr. Rahman is the founder and director of Good News India, the organization that oversees several orphanages in some of the poorest regions of East India. In two and a half weeks, five of us along with Dr. Rahman will be visiting the three orphanages in India Damascus Road Community Church has partnered with. The WaterBoyz helped build one orphanage and we will be dedicating it while there (Paul Foss will be speaking at the dedication ceremony.) We will also visit the micro-businesses that you have helped start and the 45 or so women that are currently employed by this ministry. On Sunday, November 25th, we will highlight Honduras and local missions and also do a commissioning prayer over the five people who will be traveling to India. Thanks to your passion, commitment and global awareness, missions have always been a high-octane ministry in our church.
Cast of Christmas (December 2 – 23)
During December we will take a look at the Christmas story from the viewpoint of some of the principle characters involved. On December 2nd, we will focus on Zechariah and Elizabeth; on December 9th, we will concentrate on Joseph; on December 16th, we will take a look at Mary and on December 23rd we will see Christmas from the eyes of the shepherds. Come ready to be blessed.
Other dates to note:
We will celebrate one year of our Stewardship Campaign on December 16th. Our next Dynamic Marriage graduation ceremony will also be on December 16th. Also coming in December, we will celebrate our newest members as well.
Update on Richard:
Richard and Sallie are very grateful for your prayers and cards. Richard is very touched by the number of cards he has received. Thank you for taking the time to lift him up! He is doing much better and will hopefully return to the pulpit soon (although his initial return will be phased in slowly). Paul Foss and I are in the loop with him and will keep you updated regularly. We are still asking everyone to hold off making personal visits or phone calls at this time, but please feel free to write him via email or mail.
Thank you so much for who you are! And the intense commitment you have to the One who has called us, setting us aside for a purpose for such a time as this!
Have a blessed week,
Rajendra Pillai
Executive Director
