Dear Family and Friends,
Consider this big rock in the jar of your life for 2008: Communicate with God.
And remember, your feeling of His presence (or absence) is not His presence or absence. It is your feeling. Your God is present, so the issue is not really the question of whether God’s heart is available to me, but is my heart [are our hearts] available to Him?
Then, start listening and talking. And as you do:
- Keep it simple.
- Keep it honest.
- Keep it up.
Three quick Updates:
- We are beginning a new series this Sunday. Part of our Focus on 5 is to “Pray and Read Your Bible.” The goal of this series is to live out this principle by making the Bible more accessible and understandable and to encourage us to “taste and see” God’s strength and wisdom in the Word in 2008. It is called: Fresh Manna.
- After church this Sunday is a fellowship meal (we’re planning to do this quarterly.) The format is potluck, which means: bring a dish of food you love (entrée, vegetable, salad) with some to share, then stay to deepen friendships.
- Also this Sunday is our India Mission Team report, which is a series of snapshots on God-led encounters and clarity on how we can be the hands and feet of Jesus in that area of the world.
