Welcome to Middle School Youth Ministry!

Updated: May 6

To all 5th Grade Parents: Welcome to the next step in your rising 6th grader's faith journey! Youth Pastor Roger Record and his amazing Youth Ministry team are ready to welcome your child with open arms! In fact, they made a decision this year not to wait to the Fall to welcome the incoming 6th graders into Youth Ministry, but do that this summer starting with the Summer Kick Off on May 23rd! If your child is in 5th grade during the 2020-2021 school year, then as of May 23rd, they will officially become part of the Youth Ministry @ DRCC! (Never fear, they will still be able to participate in Children's Ministry on the weekends through the end of June. And after that time, they can volunteer in Children's Ministry if they would like, but are also encouraged to join you in the Sunday morning worship service!)

Here are some of the fun events the Youth Ministry has planned this summer and over the next year for your incoming 6th grader:

  • On May 23rd, the Youth Ministry is inviting all 5th graders to officially join the Youth Ministry at its "Summer Kick-Off" from 6-7:30pm at DRCC. There will be worship, color wars, a food truck and so much more! It's a party your child won't want to miss!

  • "Summer Squad" will be held every Sunday evening in the summer from 6-7:30pm at DRCC starting on June 6th. All students going into 6th-8th grade will enjoy playing games, participating in worship, and listening to a short, relevant message.

  • SAVE THE DATE this Summer for the "Forged" & "Refined" Bible studies: Tuesday night Fishing/Bible study for boys (aka "Forged") and Thursday night Bible study for girls (aka "Refined.") More details coming soon, including locations!

  • "AlieNation" officially starts on Sunday, September 12th from 6-7:30pm @ DRCC. Every Sunday starting 9/12 the youth will play games, worship Jesus together and participate in small groups to build relationships and learn more about Jesus.

The Youth Ministry Team is also planning some great weekend Retreats for middle schoolers including:

  • OC Thrive will take place in Ocean City from November 19-21, 2021

  • The Prayer and Paintball Retreat will take place at Skycroft Conference Center in Middletown from April 22-24, 2022

As you can see, your 5th grader has a lot to look forward to as he or she enters into this new phase of their life!

Download the Youth Ministry schedule that was designed specifically with rising 6th graders in mind! And please encourage your student to attend Youth Ministry events as often as possible. Many students have amazing stories of how God has worked in their life during their middle school years because of what God has been doing through the Youth Ministry @ DRCC! Don't miss out on these amazing opportunities!
