Winter Parent Workshops!

Updated: Jan 8

Children's Ministry, Youth Ministry, and Haven are joining forces this winter and hosting a series of Parent Workshops on Zoom that are designed to benefit parents of children of all ages. Please make plans to join us as we explore the topics of ADHD and Social Media Safety as well as a night of collective Worship and Prayer for our children. These workshops will take place on the following nights:

  1. Thursday, February 11th (8:00-9:00pm) - Understanding and Identifying ADHD in Your Child : Is your child giving you a hard time...or having a hard time? Kids (and adults) with ADHD often have difficulty regulating their emotions. Join us as we watch a video from Ministry of Parenting ADHD and Autism play therapist Jackie Flynn, as she describes what is going on with our kids, and ways to help them (and yourselves) develop the ability to stay calm in the heat of the moment! The video will be accompanied by live seasoned Special Educators, Tiffany Vidt and Lori Harris, to field questions and lead discussion. Click HERE to register!

  2. Thursday, February 18th (8:00-9:00pm) - Night of Worship and Prayer : Join Youth Pastor Roger Record and a few special guests for a time of encouragement and community. We will worship through music, share prayer requests and pray over our children and youth. Come be refreshed and join in community. Click HERE to register!

  3. Thursday, February 25th (8:00-9:00pm) - Social Media Safety : Please join us as we hear from local expert, Joe Dugan, of the Maryland State Police "Internet Crimes Against Children Maryland Task Force." He will be sharing with us ways to keep our children safe as they navigate through popular Social Media Apps and the signs to look for if they are being targeted by an online predator. He will also be answering any questions you might have regarding this topic. Due to the content that will be discussed, children of Middle School and High School ages are welcome to attend this beneficial class! Remember, even if your child is not yet old enough to be on social media, it will be valuable for you to attend as a way of preparing yourself and them for that stage of parenting when they are ready to be on social media. Click HERE to register!

We hope that you plan to take advantage of at least one of these beneficial Parent Workshops!

"Train up a child on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not depart from it" Proverbs 22:6
