Children's Ministry

Every week new families are calling Damascus Road their church home. This means we have the joyful and crucial opportunity to invest the love and truth of Christ into more young minds and hearts.

Our volunteers in KIDVENTURE serve during weekend worship services in areas such as greeting, teaching, check-in and clean-up.

Communications / Web Team

Join our team of Creatives that keeps everyone informed and connected through digital and print media. Use your artistic talents to create sermon and event branding using photography, PhotoShop, InDesign, or Adobe Illustrator or help us keep our website updated (will train).

Staff Support Team

If you’re looking to volunteer during weekday hours, we could use assistance in our church office with a variety of clerical tasks such as bulletin production, church mailings, database entry and reception. We’re a friendly bunch and have lots of experience bringing new faces on board.

Welcome Team

Pathway recommendation:  beginning

A warm, helpful welcome makes a significant difference in connecting with our visitors and regular attenders each weekend. In the midst of a harried culture, we can literally open the door to the refreshment of God’s love, healing and hope! It takes many volunteers, committed monthly to do just that on Saturday evenings and Sunday mornings. Consider joining a volunteer team that manages the Welcome Center, Connections Café, CD resources, Baptismal set-up, Communion, greeting and parking teams, and more.

Worship Team

Can you sing?  Play a musical instrument?  Consider using your musical talents and become a part of the weekend Worship Team.  We have four bands that rotate throughout each month.

Worship Tech Team

We give our best with excellence and skill to provide an atmosphere conducive to meditative worship, joyful praise and compelling preaching. Our volunteers serve at monthly weekend services and corresponding rehearsals. Positions include: sound engineer, stage set-up, handyman, media operator, as well as video and lighting technicians.

Youth Ministry

Our Youth Ministry is bursting with students from all over our region. And we believe in keeping parents in the picture!

Our volunteer force is made up of young adults, empty-nesters and parents, all of whom are committed to supporting the age-group most heavily targeted by the culture. Volunteer positions range from Small Group leader and retreat chaperone to tech and video support.

Finding Your Place in Life and in Ministry: The PLACE Experience

God Uniquely Fits Us for Service

God created us, and Jesus saves us and makes us new, so that we can love others as Jesus has loved us. “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” (Eph. 2:10 (NLT)).

God gives each of us unique personalities, spiritual gifts, abilities, passions, and experiences. When we discover how we are made, we find his place for us in our lives and ministries.

We encourage you to read Pastor Rajendra Pillai’s book entitled, “Unearthed: Discover Life as God’s Masterpiece.”

What is the PLACE Experience?
The PLACE Experience helps participants find their fit in life and ministry through a three-step process:

Step 1: Personal Gifts Discovery Workshop

Begin the PLACE Experience with the Personal Gifts Discovery Workshop, which includes valuable teaching, discussion, fun exercises, and assessments of these five PLACE factors:

  • Personality Discovery

  • Learning Spiritual Gifts

  • Abilities Awareness

  • Connecting Passion with Ministry

  • Experiences of Life

Step 2: Coaching
Receive one-on-one coaching to discuss the PLACE assessments and explore potential areas of service.

Step 3: Connecting
Meet with representatives of the ministries you believe may be a good fit for your service.

Our next 2-part PLACE Workshop will be held Saturday, January 25 from 8:45am-1pm and Sunday, January 26 from 1-4:30pm.  Only $20 / includes all materials.
