  • Revised Organizational Docs

In January, the Elder Board announced that we are continuing with a shared leadership, multi-leader structure, creating a Senior Leadership Team (SLT) of two or more senior staff members under the oversight of the Elder Board. Updates from the past twelve months can be found on this News page. The Damascus Road Community Church's organizational documents have been revised to reflect this shared leadership structure. Download these documents here: Articles of Incorporation (changes are highlighted) Bylaws (changes are highlighted) Executive Summary of Revisions These documents need to be voted on by covenant members in our annual vote when ballots are distributed later in May, in advance of our June congregational meeting. Our second hybrid Congregational Townhall will take place on Monday April 29th at 7:00pm. If attending through Zoom, you can register for the link here. Please come with any questions regarding the newly revised organizational documents. Mark your calendar for the evening of June 11th for our annual congregational meeting. We’ll review the proposed budget, provide a leadership structure update and cast vision for where we’re headed. You won’t want to miss it.

  • Teaching Pastor Hiring Update

from Mike Bernoi I am excited to share some family news regarding our pastoral search for a Teaching and Worship Experience Pastor, who will initially report up to me as they oversee our gifted teaching, worship, and tech teams. Vanderbloemen, the Christian staffing, and consulting firm that conducted our search, has provided us with six well qualified candidates from the 79 who applied. Recently, our search consultant was onsite and shared an excellent overview of the candidates to the elders, including video interviews of each individual. At this stage, we are beginning to set up interviews starting post Easter through May. We’ve got a great team of folks serving on our interview panel, consisting of select elders, trustees, Human Capital Committee, along with our Executive Director & myself. Our hope is to extend an offer by the early summer time-frame. Naturally, this new pastor’s arrival is dependent on lots of moving parts, but we’ll keep you posted! One other quick note - our elders & trustees are close to completing the edits to our articles and bylaws to reflect our newer shared leadership structure. Shared leadership is something that has always been a rich part of our history. They will be ready for review by covenant members ahead of our Spring Congregational Townhall. We’ll keep you posted as all of this progresses. We are grateful for the efforts of all involved – and we are grateful for all of you, as together we proclaim Christ and grow people up in Him! That’s what it’s all about!
